Product Description
Polymers containing silicon backbones are silicon-based defoamers. Both an oil and a water-based emulsion may be used to distribute them. An hydrophobic silica is spread in a silicone oil to create the silicone compound. Emulsifiers are added to the silicone to make sure that it spreads quickly and effectively in the foaming media. Additionally, silicone glycols and other modified silicone fluids may be present in the silicone compound. These are also powerful defoamers that work well at dispersing trapped air as well as breaking up foam on the surface.
